Held from August 20 to August 27, the 2023 festival saw the usual mix of Welsh and international music, exhibitions and lectures, displaying a wide variety of performances by world class musicians.

One of the festival highlights included an entire day devoted to the work of famed composer Franz Schubert, which featured a Schubertiade Lunchtime concert, a masterclass concert and evening concert with pianists Elisabeth Leonskaja and Julius Drake.

OTHER NEWS:

Prior to the performance, MOMA co-artistic director Julius Drake said: “In my opinion, Leonskaja is one of the greatest pianists playing concerts today, and the recital she gave in Machynlleth last year, of the last three Beethoven sonatas, was a truly unforgettable experience.”

Famed Welsh Male Voice Choir Côr Godre’r Aran returned to the venue for an evening of rousing music under Director Eirian Owen, marimba virtuoso Ji Hye Jung performed a late night concert filled with lively classics and Consone String Quartet provided a final treat for festivalgoers as part of the event’s finale.
