An evening dedicated to Hindustani classical music
Renowned classical vocalist and playback singer Kalyani Salunke, who began her training under her father Shri Purushottam Pande and later under late Pt. Vasantrao Kulkarni of Agra Gharana and late Dr Ashok Da Ranade of Gwalior Gharana, is performing a Hindustani classical music concert titled Badarawa Barasan Ko Aye in the city this weekend. She has been honoured with several awards, including the prestigious Sajan Milaap Award, Sangeet-Bhushan Pt. Ram Marathe Yuva Sanmaan Puraskar 2016, among others.

If you haven’t seen Oscar-nominated All That Breathes, here’s your chance. The documentary revolves around two brothers — Nadeem and Saud — who devote their lives to protecting the black kite, a majestic bird of prey essential to the ecosystem of New Delhi that has been falling from the sky at alarming rates. Amid environmental toxicity and social unrest, the ‘kite brothers’ spend day and night caring for the creatures in their makeshift avian basement hospital.

For the love of words and poetry
Cultural collective Kommune is back with the second edition of Spoken Salon called Shabd. A celebration of Urdu and Hindi, the evening will see Piyush Mishra, Divya Prakash Dubey, Priya Malik, Rajat Sood, Nayab Midha, among others presenting to the audience Hindustani stories, music and poetry.
