Dharwad: Classical Music Festival This Weekend | Hubballi News

Dharwad: Bharateeya Sangeet Vidyalaya in association with Suhana Basant Foundation of Pune and Sitra Ratna Samiti of Dharwad will organise a two-day Hindustani classical music festival ‘Riwayat’ in memory of Ustad Abdul Kareem Khan at Srujana auditorium in Dharwad on Saturday and Sunday (April 29, 30). On Saturday, Nagaraj Hegde of Shiranala will begin the concert with flute at 5.45pm. It will be followed by a vocal concert by Pandit Upendra Bhat of Pune. On Sunday, Sujayeendra Kulkarni of Hubballi and Amarendra Dhaneshwar of Mumbai will present a vocal recital. Nisar Ahmed, Shridhar Mandre, Shrihari Diggavi (tabla), Basu Hiremath (harmomium) and Guruprasad Hegde (Sarangi) will accompany these musicians. Raghavendra Ayi, Dr Soubhagya Kulkarni and Shrinivas Joshi will be the chief guests at the inaugural function on Saturday.
Continuation of elimination of stoppage of trains
Hubballi: It has been decided to continue the elimination of the stoppage of the following trains at Chakarlapalli stations for a period of another three months for construction of high-level platform and foot over bridge. As a result, the following MEMU/DEMU special trains will not stop at Chakrapalli up to the date mentioned against each. Train Nos. 06595/06596 KSR Bengaluru – Dharmavaram – KSR Bengaluru, 06515/06516 KSR Bengaluru – Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam – KSR Bengaluru and 07694 Hindupur – Guntakal, which was earlier notified to eliminated up to April 30, has been extended again up to July 31. Train No. 07693 Guntakal- Hindupur DEMU Special, which was earlier notified to eliminate up to April 29, has been extended again up to July 30.
